The story behind Stories for Good

Hi - I’m Dan Sieger and I founded Stories for Good because I’m passionate about the power of storytelling.

I have spent my career telling stories for some of the largest companies in the world, including Toyota, McGraw-Hill, Bank of America, Seagram Americas and NASDAQ.

At the same time, I have worked with numerous nonprofits as a volunteer, consultant and corporate partner, including Audubon, The Doe Fund and The Harlem Educational Activities Fund.

There’s nothing that excites me more than helping an organization rethink its story to ensure it’s relevant to their current and future goals and the needs of its stakeholders.

I have spent the last decade working in the education field, overseeing rebranding, narrative development and content marketing at McGraw-Hill Education, Cengage and Ellucian.

At Stories for Good, we are guided by these three principles:

Your story is never complete.

You may have your organization’s story down pat - and you have been using it for years. But stories often need an outside eye to see if they are still resonating as much as they can. The market changes, the needs of your stakeholders change, and your organization changes. We help you look at your story and polish it to ensure it has the most impact possible.

We also act as story hunters, working with you to look through the nooks and crannies of your organization to find great stories that haven’t yet been told.

Unleash the beast.

Once we have your story polished and expanded, we aggressively get the word out to current stakeholders and reach new ones in exciting ways. There has never been a better time for creating content or more channels to distribute it.

We make our own news.

We update the content of your website to truly reflect your good work, develop snackable content for social media, short videos that show the impact of your work, blog posts that are directed towards the interests of your readers, infographics that put your work in perspective of society’s needs, podcasts that break out of a crowded marketplace and seize an audience… and more.

If you don’t measure it, it’s a hobby.

Is this all worth it? After all, budget constraints are a daily reality and every dollar spent on your brand is a dollar you don’t spend in other areas.  But the competition for attention is fierce. Telling a great story helps you get noticed… and watched.

We work with you to develop a measurement plan to ensure that the work we do is making the impact you want.

  • Are you getting more visitors to your website and are they spending more time there?

  • Are people opening your emails more often and clicking through to the content you’re sending?

  • Are you getting more social followers, and are they more engaged with your brand?

We’d love to find out more about the good work you’re doing and help you share that message more broadly.
